Graphic/Web Designer

We are an established web design company constantly on the look out for fresh talent.  You must be a good graphic designer first and foremost, with a passion for the web and an eye for detail. "CSS guru's" would be great, but we know they don't grow on trees, so if you are not so hot on the coding side, then you will be fully supported by the rest of the team. What matters is that you can communicate with clients, and put together engaging, eye-catching visuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Create original designs and layouts for large e-commerce websites and other web interfaces.
  • Communicate with clients.
  • Create corporate identities (logo and brand guidelines).
  • Some print work, if and when required.

Requirements:

Essential:

Strong graphic design skills.
Good working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Examples of your work (digital please - ie: links to websites, online porfolio, pdf examples).
Ability to work to deadlines and use own initiative.

Advantageous:

Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Experience in designing web interfaces.

Not required, but would help:

Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Knowledge of web standards, accessibility and usability.
Experience of print and In-design.
Flash (animation and basic actionscript).

Who we are not looking for:

Flash designers (our sites are predominantly HTML).
Web developers, with little or no graphic design skills.

Senior Designer


We are an established award-winning web design and development company, who specialise in e-commerce and e-business websites. As we increasingly grow and attract larger projects, we are constantly striving to improve the standard and reputation of our design. We are looking for a talented and creative individual to take the initiative and help us achieve that goal.

The applicant must be a highly creative and passionate web designer with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a professional design environment. As well as excellent design skills and awareness of current standards on the web, the applicant must also have a strong vision of how we can move design forward within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and specify the management process for design.
  • Mentor and oversee 2 designers.
  • Interface with the development team to help initiate ideas.
  • Oversee and develop the visual brand of the company.
  • Create original designs and layouts for large e-commerce websites and other web interfaces.
  • Communicate with clients and the account manager.
  • Build and production tasks working to W3C and WAI standards.

Requirements:

  • Ability to translate functional requirements and wireframes into user interfaces.
  • Experience of collaborating with clients to ensure design meets the client's business objectives.
  • Ability to hand code valid XHTML/CSS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash.
  • Solid understanding of designing for CMS-driven dynamic sites.
  • Basic knowledge of Javascript and PHP.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
